Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 14 April 2025  ·  Effective: 14 April 2025

These terms govern your enrolment in, and attendance at, reading workshops and discussion circles organised by Veritane. Please read them carefully. By submitting an enrolment enquiry or attending a programme session, you accept these terms in full.

1. About Veritane

Veritane is an educational reading programme organiser based in Singapore. Our address is 14 Robinson Road, #08-01A, Far East Finance Building, Singapore 048545. We may be reached at [email protected] or by telephone at +65 9384 7610.

All programmes offered by Veritane are reading-led educational workshops and discussion circles. Nothing communicated by Veritane — in sessions, in materials, in correspondence, or on this website — constitutes financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or any form of regulated advisory service. Veritane is not a licensed financial adviser and does not provide personal recommendations.

2. Scope of Programmes

Veritane currently offers three reading programmes:

Programme descriptions are published on our website and provided in pre-enrolment correspondence. Session content, schedule, and format may be adjusted at Veritane's discretion. We will communicate any material changes to enrolled participants in advance.

3. Enrolment and Registration

Enrolment is completed when Veritane sends a written confirmation of your place in a cohort. Submission of an enquiry form does not constitute confirmed enrolment. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis within each cohort. Veritane reserves the right to decline an enrolment enquiry without providing a reason.

You must be 18 years of age or older to enrol in any Veritane programme. Our programmes are designed for adults aged 40 and above; participants outside this range are welcome where it is appropriate to the cohort.

4. Fees and Payment

Programme fees are as listed on our website at the time of enquiry. Fees are stated in Singapore dollars and include all reading materials distributed as part of the programme. Fees do not include travel to session venues.

Payment instructions are provided upon enrolment confirmation. Full payment is required before the first session of your cohort unless a separate written arrangement has been made with Veritane. Fees are non-transferable between participants.

5. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation by the participant

To cancel your enrolment, please write to [email protected]. The date of cancellation is the date Veritane receives your written notice.

Cancellation or rescheduling by Veritane

If Veritane cancels a cohort before it commences, a full refund of fees paid will be issued within 14 days. If Veritane is required to reschedule sessions, enrolled participants will be offered the option to transfer to a rescheduled date or receive a proportional refund for sessions not yet attended.

6. Attendance and Conduct

Sessions are conducted in a structured reading-and-discussion format. Participants are expected to engage respectfully with the facilitator and fellow cohort members. Veritane reserves the right to ask a participant to withdraw from a programme if their conduct is disruptive, disrespectful, or otherwise inconsistent with a collegial reading environment. In such cases, no refund will be issued for sessions already attended, and the remainder of the fee will be refunded at Veritane's discretion.

Participants who miss individual sessions are not entitled to a refund for missed sessions. Facilitators may provide a written session summary where practicable, but are not obliged to do so.

7. Reading Materials

Printed reading materials provided as part of a programme are for the personal educational use of the enrolled participant only. Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared with persons outside the cohort without Veritane's prior written consent. All intellectual property in Veritane-created materials remains with Veritane.

Materials that reference third-party publications, government documentation, or publicly available scheme guides are provided for reading and discussion purposes. Veritane does not hold copyright in such third-party materials.

8. No Advisory Relationship

Participation in a Veritane programme does not create an advisory, consultancy, or professional relationship between the participant and Veritane or any of its facilitators. Facilitators may read aloud from, discuss, and explain published documents and scheme guides, but they do not provide personal financial recommendations or assessments.

If you have questions about your personal financial position, pension scheme, estate planning, or any regulated matter, you should seek guidance from a licensed professional adviser regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore or another appropriate body.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Veritane's total liability to any participant arising out of or in connection with a programme — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is limited to the fee paid by that participant for the programme in question. Veritane is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or financial loss arising from attendance at, or reliance on content discussed in, any programme.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Website and Content

The content on our website is provided for general information purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional financial advice. We make reasonable efforts to keep website content accurate and current, but we do not warrant its completeness or fitness for any particular purpose.

Links to external websites, including Singapore government portals and public scheme documentation, are provided for reference only. Veritane is not responsible for the content or availability of external sites.

11. Personal Data

The collection and use of personal data in connection with your enrolment and participation is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms by reference.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

13. Changes to These Terms

Veritane may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with the effective date noted above. Continued enrolment in or attendance at any programme after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
